Having walked alongside my parents as a helper during their medical crisis over the last few years, I noticed that oftentimes therapists and therapy sessions, though helpful, felt clinical and rushed. Sometimes even impersonal. Many seniors and elderly patients are experiencing some loss of community, relationships, and even joy, including my own parents. To exacerbate these feelings, add in a medical crisis and the need for ongoing physical therapy for healing, recovery, and prevention of falls, and it can be a lot to deal with emotionally. Kele Murdin, I believe, recognizes this, and I am very excited to finally find a therapist and therapies that approaches PT with care, personalization, relationships, and proven results. It is a huge relief to find something and someone who will care for our elders holistically and personally, and who has a solid understanding of the complexities of falls and fall preventions. And with excellence and care! My father has passed on, but my mother is currently recovering from a fall that broke her hip, and has been a fall risk for years. I would absolutely trust her in the care of a Group Otago therapist, and I would absolutely trust the therapy methods with no hesitation!
